The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Questers and Strategists groups.
